Purpose-built with unyielding strength
The Grappler Race Carbon Downhill Wheels are engineered specifically for the rigors of bike park riding and gravity racing. Refined over multiple World Cup Downhill racing seasons through feedback from riders such as Aaron Gwin and Dak Norton, e*thirteen has improved upon the best aspects of their beloved LG1 Race Carbon wheels to create an even stronger wheel.
The low rim profile height and double-butted spokes makes for a responsive and dynamic ride. The carbon rims come with e*thirteen's trusted Lifetime Carbon Rim Warranty so you can push your limits and ride with confidence.
The Grappler DH rear hub features a unique integrated 7-speed 9-24T cassette/ driver, exclusively engineered for e*thirteen's downhill rear wheels. This innovative system has a compact design that reduces weight and parts compared to a standard rear hub. It also creates a more robust wheel architecture through a broader spoke bracing angle. This allows the wheel to have equal spoke lengths and tension on both sides for more consistent handling and better wheel durability.
The second generation 7-speed cassette has been re-engineered, now with nickel plating for extended durability and a wider 266% gear range. Still featuring e*thirteen's signature 9T smallest cog, it allows for higher top-end speed with any chainring size to meet the clearance needs of professional downhill racers. The integrated freehub provides quick and reliable performance with a swift six-degree engagement, which extends the life of the pawl and ratchet system and reduces pedal kickback on bikes with substantial travel.
